2012 Makeup Colors you MUST have!

2012 is here and it now time to revamp your cosmetics and show just how trendy you are!  I am here to help you with what is in for Spring! All these products are suggestions and you can always find the same types of colors with any brand.

Try MAC “Montage” Lipstick and MAC “Russian Red”

Orange isn’t reserved for traffic cones and prison jumpsuits anymore. This color will warm up both fair and dark skin. When you wear a a saturated orange and strong lip keep the rest of your makeup low key and stick to a soft, peach blush and a swipe of black eyeliner plus some nice mascara.

Red never goes out of fashion.  Red hot lips makes any women look sexy and sultry.  Blue-based reds look best on fair skin while orange-based ones flatter medium and dark complexions

Try MAC Metal X Eyeshadow in “Venetian Tarnish” Golden tarnished bronze and “Virgin Silver” White with silver pearl

Brown eye shadow is a makeup-bag staple, but now makeup artists are amping it up with a touch of shine. MAC just came out with a line of Metal X shadows that are amazing! I love that they have a nice metallic shimmer to them and come a bunch of different colors but the shimmer brown is what is in season right now!  Just a touch of this swept over the eyes adds instant attraction to your eyes.

Try MAC “Fresh Honey” Blush (Warm apricot) and “Early Morning” Blush (Peachy pink)

This is the year to layer your blushes!  Wearing only one color makes your face look flat and one dimensional – make it look naturally flushed by applying the peach blush first, followed by pink, on the apples of your cheeks.

Try OPI “Venus Di Violet”

Violet nails are all the rage on the 2012 Spring runways.  Violet looks best on short, well-groomed nails.

Try MAC “Teddy” Kohl Eye Pencil

What is hot on Spring 2012 runways?  Hot brown smokey eyes.  Rim the inside of    your lower lash line with your favorite black pencil, then draw a smudgy chocolate brown line along your upper and lower lash lines – smudge it out to create that smokey effect and make it look hot with a nude lip.

Try MAC “Naked Space” Creamy mid-tone nude peach

The 2012 nude lip is a pinky peach lip gloss that flatters all skin tones. Tap peach gloss over the center of soft pink lips for a all natural glow and kissable lips.

Wet N Wild Limited Eyeshadow Palette “I Heart Matte”!

Ok so as a solid MAC lover why would I ever like anything from the drugstore?? Well simple – Wet N Wild has a new palette that is amazing and very comparable!!  The best palette Wet N Wild just came out with is their NEW “I Love Matte” Palette:

This Palette is only available at Walgreens and its under $5!! What a steal!  It is very pigmented and looks great on any skin tone!

Here are some more pics:

Here are the swatches:

Go out and get your palette ASAP before it sells out!!

Last Letter for my dad….

(Picture of My dad, my brother and me)

Dear Dad –

I never knew a day like today would ever come in a million years – yet it came so soon. Just last week Sunny and I put you in the car and drove you to Taco Bell. You loved Taco Bell. We had the windows open and your favorite music loud, just like you wanted. You ordered your favorite Chicken Burrito and then when we came home you ate and we gave you a bath. We also cut your hair and shaved your beard and you loved it!
Since last year in May when this whole nightmare started I never saw you without a smile on your beautiful face, I knew you were terrified inside yet you would never let anyone see it. You are a badshaa and a king in not only my eyes but in the eyes of many.
You would always want Kenny and I to come visit you with the kids so you could see your grandchildren. You loved those babies and they loved you. They were always so excited to see their Papu.
You had the most open heart of anyone I knew. You could have had only change in your pocket but you were always giving it all away – even to people you never knew. You never let Sunny, mom or I ever feel as though we were deprived of anything. You were like a magician; any of our wishes was your command. You always told us to enjoy life and to never worry. Even when you were worrying in your heart you hid it so well that we never felt any worries.
Dad – I promise that I will never forget all the things you have done for me, you raised me to be a responsible person, to love life, to love my kids and husband to be educated and to always respect everyone. You also taught me how to drive, helped me with college, gave me away at my wedding and were always the best father ever. I know I could always call you and tell you anything and you would listen and make it all better. You saying “Its OK Beta – don’t worry – these things happen” and then laugh about it, always made even the worst problems all of sudden all right and disappear.
I want you to know you left us as a king and we all will always remember you as a person who was on top of the world. You came to this country with only pennies in your pocket and with those pennies you made millions. You earned the respect of the whole community and everyone loved you so much. Everyone will miss you – especially your little girl.

Love you dad forever and ever – you are always in my heart and there wont be one day that I wont think of you. Kisses and Hugs forever.

jill - I came here from your youtube channel and zuca contest. Your last letter to your dad brought me to tears and I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss and I am sure he loved you as much as you loved him. It was a beautiful tribute and even though I don’t know you, I am glad to have found you!

adriana - I know its very hard to lose someone you loved. Im so happy that ur dad was able to bring smiles to many. I know its a hard time for you but be strong not only for you but for your mother and those who surround you. Its very clear what a great father he was and how he was able to raise you as giving as he was. For you to be giving an expensive Zuca bag to others really shows what great heart you have. Im sure he would be more than proud to let ppl know you were his daughter. Even if i dont win, like i mentioned in your video, just know that it makes me happy to know that there are ppl out there who are as king and giving as you. Happy Holidays! from one of your followers, Adriana B. Zamora :)

How to use Pigments

You can purchase pigments from everywhere now a days but how do you use them?  You can use Pigments in so many different ways!  Here is a breakdown of how to use them:

1. Pigments can be used with MAC Fix + to intensify the color and keep it on your eyes:)

2. You can mix pigments with lipgloss to make it stick better on your lips and give it extra staying  power!

3. Mix it with clear nailpolish and create your OWN unique nail color

4. use a little on your cheeks to highlight your cheekbones.

How has Cancer touched you? Here is my story…..

October is breast cancer month.  I wish there was a ALL cancer month to honor all those that go through all different types of cancer.

As you walk down the street you are passing hundreds of people and almost all of them will have some story of how it has entered their life.  I truly hate saying the word so I try not to say “it”.  I never thought that it would somehow enter my life.  You know people always think that bad things happen to others until it one day knocks on your front door and you are deeply shocked as to how this happened.  You think, did I do something wrong? Only if I had chosen this path instead of that maybe it could have been different?  It all comes down to karma.

“It” entered my life last year in May of 2010 when my dad had his first seizure.  I was working with a bride that day and no one told me about what had happened.  I was also about 4 months pregnant with Jasmira (my third little girl) My cousin had texted me in the evening asking “How is your dad doing?” I looked at the text a bit confused and responded back “I guess he is ok” I thought to myself what an odd question to ask randomly, I mean we never talked about my dad.  It was always about the kids or something.  After I had got done with work I called my mother who did not answer her calls and either did anyone else.  I was getting worried.  Finally I received a call from my brother who had said dad was in the hospital and he had a breathing tube and the doc tors don’t know what is going on.  He was admitted into the ICU and stayed there for about 3-4 days. Well it turned out that he had not taken his medications properly and he was going to be ok and he was released to go home.  We were thrilled!

A few months passed and dad seemed to be doing ok, working and partying just like he always had.  Then in June my dad was sitting in his truck and my brother found him seizing and foaming at the mouth.  My brother called 911 and they thought he had a stroke.  They had him again on a breathing tube and started doing multiple MRIs, CAT Scans and other blood work.  This time the MRI showed a little lesion on the left side of his brain.  We were shocked.  The doctor wanted to do a biopsy but my dad refused. My dad got better in the ICU and was released after a week. He was going to be monitored every month with MRIs and other tests to keep this lesion under control.  We were told that medications could probably help make everything ok.

A few months passed and in October the doctors finally told my dad that the lesion had grown into a tumor and that he had to operate ASAP.  My dad and family were terrified but after much argument with my dad he agreed to be operated on.  The surgery went well.  The weeks following the surgery were difficult for him.  He was always in pain but never said he was.  He was always a trooper.  Never said anything was ever wrong.

A few weeks after the surgery the biopsy revealed that my dad had brain cancer.  The worst thing we feared.  Everyone silently cried.  There was more to the story though.  He had the worst kind.  GBM.  This is rare and incurable and the prognosis is very bad.  The doctors pretty much said to go ahead and start dealing with any final things he wanted to do in his life.  Patients with this type of disease live no longer than 18 months. He never told the family or even showed how scared he really was.  He was always still happy go lucky.

My dad went through all the regular treatments, radiation then all the different types of chemo.  Well none of it really worked.  Only made dad weaker.  Dad is still with us thank God but its been a hard journey for the family.  Dad no longer responds to us like he use to, stays in bed all day and cant do the fun things he wants to.  We love and pray for dad everyday that  somehow some miracle comes and allows him to stay with us as long as he can.

This is my first post ever about my personal life.  I wanted to share it with the world to make sure others know that life isnt always full of sunny days, everyone has cloudy days and even cloudy seasons.  Everyone has a story to tell and I have shared mine.

The best things in life are free

Everyone always wants to be the richest, the sexiest, the person on top BUT have they ever thought of IF they had all the money in the world it would mean nothing if they could not have their health to enjoy it?  Everyone should thank God everyday that they have another day to live and breath and to be with the ones they love.  They have their health and they are able to take a breath so that they can enjoy their loved ones and the fruits of their labor.  There are so many people in this world that take their health for granted.  They engage in drugs or overuse of alcohol or they just abuse their bodies.  How can someone do that and then think they will be 100 some day?  Just a thought to think about….
