♥ Tips Your Momma Never Told you! ♥

Hello Beauties!! Ok so this post is all about the TOP secrets that your Momma did not tell you about! so SHHHHH…dont tell her you know and surprise all your friends with these tricks.. you will be the smartest women around!

1. Rinse your hair with Vinegar or Beer!

Screen shot 2014-02-03 at 9.04.57 PM

♡ Ok so yes we all drink Beer and hate the smell of Vinegar BUT who would have ever thought these two items would be great for HAIR?  Oh yes my friend! Rinsing your hair with beer helps restore moisture to your locks while using vinegar will up the ante in shine. Soak your hair in either liquid (not at the same time) for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water and get ready for some beautiful locks!

2. Shave your body with Conditioner!

Screen shot 2014-02-03 at 9.15.19 PM

♡ Love how your conditioner makes your hair super soft? Imagine how it can make your body soft and silky too! If you’re out of shaving cream, lather your legs with conditioner instead of soap. Conditioner will soften the hair on your legs making it easier to shave (and it will leave your skin feeling extra silky).

Winter Skin Tips

We all know how winter skin can be so rough! Its dry, its itchy its just plain nasty.  So how do we get through the winter months and still have that natural glow as we just got back from vacation? Here are a few tips that should help your skin survive the brutal cold.  I know that living in Chicago I have been using these tips and its really helped.

1. Exfoliate your entire body

  • Why exfoliate? You must get rid of all of the dead skin cells in order for the lotions and oils to penetrate into the layers of your skin and keep the moisture inside your skin.

Secret Mascara Tips! 4 Simple rules

Screen Shot 2013-11-19 at 4.54.40 PM

So everyone wants to know how to get their lashes PERECT! Here are a few tips that can help:)

1. Make sure to get into the inner corners of your eyes!!

  • Use your mascara wand in the inner corners of your eyes FIRST and that way you wont forget those little tiny baby hairs.  This will ensure that you get the smallest lashes.  Once you cover the inner corners you can continue to the middle of your eye and finally the outer corner.

2. Use your eyelash curler!!

  • Make sure to use your eyelash curler starting from the base and then go out in the middle of the lashes and then finally at the tips.  Hold each squeeze for at least three seconds or the curl wont last.

3. Apply light coats!!

  • Start from the roots and out towards the tips of the lashes.  Go light to avoid any clumps on the lashes.  You can always add more product – its hard to take it off.

4. No Mascara on the bottom!!

  • Dont put mascara on the bottom of the lashes unless its a main event.  This will help the top lashes stand out and bring out the eyes more.  This makes the lashes look more natural and soft.

Om Shanti Om Wedding at the Stonegate

This beautiful wedding was one of a kind!  Sexy Shalini and her soon to be hubby Praveen met through some friends and were always “just friends”.  Praveen came to America alone to study and wanted the best that America had to offer…… and he finds his perfect bride.  They stayed close and were good friends for a year or so before they officially started dating.  Praveen is the type of guy that is laid back, doesnt like heights, is a typical good educated guy.  Shalini is beautiful, sweet and has a smile that lights up any room.  She is more of a risk taker than Mr. Praveen.  So when Praveen knew that Shalini was the one he decided that the only way she would say yes would be if he could totally thrill her!  So what do they do?  They went sky diving and this was when he asked her to marry him! How could she ever say no to a guy whose worst fear was heights and here he was jumping out of a plane to ask her to be his for life? One of the most sweetest stories ever! I had the pleasure of doing Shalini’s and her families makeup for all of her events!  On her mendhi night we had a beautiful orange Punjabi suit so we decided on doing a bronze bronze golden drama eye with a pop of Orange in it. We added some thick lashes and then had a glossy peachy orange lip to compliment.  For Shalinis wedding we did a Smokey copper eye with hints of red and brown and bright lips. Shailnis sister radhika was no less of a diva than her sister. She also was very passionate about makeup. So for her events we did some Smokey eyes and some bright lips:)Here are some pics from my Iphone….

Reason, Season, Lifetime

So this weekend was one of the most interesting weekends I have had in a long time, my beautiful bride gave me some advice that was so touching to me. She was married at the beautiful Marriot in Naperville and it was the perfect setting.  All serene and holistic.  I have not been a very calm person or a person that believes in any type of meditation but meeting this bride changed my perception of what meditation really is.  As I was getting her ready for her big day I noticed how calm and not bridezilla like she really was.  It was more of “whatever happens …..happens” attitude which is not really what I am use to in the wedding world.  She put on some very interesting music and it was very Yoga like music.  As I listened closer it turned out to be Punjabi Prayers by Snatam Kaur. She is an American lady who has decided to live as a true Sikh person.  Very inspiring.  She has such a beautiful voice that calms you and makes you feel very blissful.  I mean you dont even have to be Indian to really enjoy and appreciate this music.

I want to thank this sweet bride for introducing me to this way of life and hopefully soon I can get my mindset to actually start mediating.  Sometimes in life you meet someone just for one reason and that is to show you a new path that may help you in the future.  People you meet come into your life for a Reason….a Season…..or a Lifetime. Who came into your life today?
